Meeting between Al-Burhan and Abiy Ahmed discusses developments in both countries

The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council and General Commander of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, met with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on Wednesday in Beijing, on the sidelines of his participation in the China-Africa Forum. The meeting was attended by Acting Foreign Minister Ambassador Hussein Awad and Sudan’s Ambassador to Beijing, Omar Sadiq.
The meeting touched on the strong relationship between the two brotherly countries and discussed ways to support and enhance them for the benefit of both peoples. Additionally, it addressed recent developments in both countries and the broader region.
In this context, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed stated that he discussed regional issues with General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan.
In a tweet, Abiy Ahmed said: “Following up on our meeting in July, I had another opportunity to meet General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan on the sidelines of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum. Our discussions focused on a range of bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.”
