Global Markets Anticipate Meetings of Three Major Central Banks

Sudan Events – Agencies

Global markets are anticipating the U.S. Federal Reserve meeting this third week of September, which will be the last before the U.S. elections. It is expected that the Fed will lower interest rates for the first time in over four years.
Currently, interest rates range between 5.25% and 5.5%, the highest in 23 years. While the reduction is confirmed, it remains unclear whether the Fed will cut by 25 or 50 basis points.
In addition to the U.S. Federal Reserve meeting, major central banks will also be holding meetings this week. On Wednesday, the Brazilian Central Bank is expected to raise the benchmark interest rate by 25 basis points.
In Europe, after the European Central Bank cut rates by 25 basis points last week and hinted at further cuts in October, markets are watching the Bank of England’s decision on Thursday, which is expected to keep rates steady at 5%. The Turkish Central Bank is also expected to maintain its interest rate at 50%.
