2B OPCO Vehicles Operating Heglige Field Arrive in South Sudan , Reconnaissance Planes Fly over Kordofan

15 Pieces of field equipments belonging to 2B OPCO, operating Heglige oil field in West Kordofan State – western Sudan, arrived today in South Sudan, 24 hours after attacking the region by the Rapid Support militia.
Sources told “Sudan Events” on Tuesday that reconnaissance planes belonging to the SAF were seen in the over the sky of the region this morning, conducting extensive exploration and surveying operations for the oil sector there, while large army forces continued to arrive in the Muglad area separating the long road between the Balila and Heglig fields. In the Heglig field today, site security imposed a series of strict precautionary security measures for field workers to ensure movement.
Balila” field and airport were attacked at dawn yesterday, Monday, by the Rapid (RSF) militia, forcing workers at the Petroanergy operating company to implement the shutdown protocol to ensure the safety of the facility, while the workers were evacuated to the city of Babanusa.
It is expected that the company’s technical crews will return overnight in the coming hours to begin restarting the field. Fortunately, the field has not yet been affected by the suspension of operation, because the heat exchangers can operate for 72 hours. This ensures that the transmission lines are not affected and prevents the coagulation of the crude oil, according to an engineer affiliated with the company.
