The leader of the Justice and Equality Movement and Minister of Finance, Jibril Ibrahim, rejected the presence of foreign forces in the country, stating, “We are capable of expelling the RSF from citizens’ homes and public facilities without the need for foreign troops.”
In an interview with “Al Jazeera Mubasher,” Jibril reiterated the Sudanese government’s refusal to participate in Geneva negotiations, saying, “We will not create a new platform or new mediators to revive the RSF and its allies. We already went to Jeddah on May 11, 2023, and signed the Jeddah Declaration. The RSF must implement it if it genuinely wants to stop the war.”
Jibril emphasized that the war was imposed on the Sudanese army and joint forces, and they will not accept the RSF’s return to the political scene after the killings, looting, and rapes it has carried out against the Sudanese people. He added, “None of us wants the war to continue, but we seek a dignified peace that does not bring the RSF back to power.”
He concluded, “If the UAE insists on spending its money, we will triumph over the militia and the UAE.”
