China: U.S. arms sales to Taiwan violate the “One China” principle

Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Zhang Xiaogang said today (Friday) that U.S. arms sales to Taiwan seriously violated the “One China” principle adhered to by Beijing and the provisions of the joint statements between China and the United States.
Zhang added that China had lodged an official protest with the U.S. over the issue.
On Wednesday, China announced measures against nine companies linked to the U.S. military due to U.S. arms sales to Taiwan.
