Burhan to Meet with U.S. Intelligence: Outlining His UN Speech

Foreign Minister Hussein Awad revealed details of the participation of the Chairman of the Sovereign Council, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, in the high-level meetings of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. According to Awad, Al-Burhan will engage in active meetings with several presidents, and discussions with the U.S. side are being arranged, with further details to be clarified in the coming days. Awad added that there are plans for high-level meetings with three significant U.S. institutions: the Department of State, the CIA, and USAID, given their influential roles in shaping decisions related to Sudan’s political, security, and economic landscape. He noted that Al-Burhan would deliver Sudan’s address to the UN General Assembly on Thursday, covering the country’s current situation, its demands from the UN, and urging for justice and condemnation of the aggressor. The speech will also call for funding reconstruction projects and the establishment of an international reconstruction fund.
