The Sudanese army continued its large-scale offensive on Thursday, targeting RSF positions in both Khartoum and Khartoum North. Military sources confirmed that the army has maintained control over several strategic locations after a series of coordinated ground, air, and artillery operations. The offensive, which began in the early hours of Thursday, saw army troops crossing key bridges and securing critical areas.
Reports highlighted that the army’s infantry successfully crossed the bridges connecting Omdurman and Khartoum, while naval forces used boats to transport troops to strategic positions on the eastern bank of the Nile in Khartoum North. Throughout Thursday, aerial bombardments and artillery strikes targeted RSF fortifications across multiple fronts, weakening their defense.
Military sources emphasized that this operation is part of a larger strategy, with more planned offensives expected over the next two days. The sources also refuted claims of the army withdrawing from its advanced positions, confirming that the army remains entrenched in newly secured areas in both Khartoum and Khartoum North.
Fighting intensified around the Al-Fatihab Bridge, with the army making notable progress in securing key points along the bridge. On the Khartoum North front, the army took control of several entry points and strategic positions, further tightening its grip on the city. The RSF’s ability to regroup and reinforce its fighters was significantly hampered by the scale of the army’s multi-pronged assault, leaving them vulnerable on several fronts.
The ongoing operations have dealt a heavy blow to the RSF’s ability to hold its ground, as the army’s continuous bombardment and strategic advancements have left the RSF struggling to maintain control of key areas.
