Thousands of Families Flee Sirba in West Darfur After Clashes Between Joint Forces and Militia

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) reported on Sunday that thousands of families had fled two towns in Sirba locality in West Darfur following clashes between the RSF and joint forces.
The clashes occurred on Thursday between the RSF and the joint forces of armed groups allied with the army in the areas of Abu Soruj and Barasliba in West Darfur.
In a statement, the IOM estimated that 4,050 families had fled from Abu Soruj and 3,205 from Barasliba to Sirba and other locations across the border with Chad.
The organization noted that displacement began after the clashes, adding that “the situation remains tense and unpredictable.”
