Wheat Seed Price Reduction
Sudan Events – Reports
The Governor of the Gezira Project, Engineer Ibrahim Mustafa, announced a significant price reduction on wheat seeds for farmers. The price per 60-kilogram sack of wheat seeds will now be 85,000 Sudanese pounds. He explained that this initiative is part of the administration’s effort to support wheat cultivation and reduce production costs, thereby increasing farmer revenues.
Mustafa noted that priority in seed distribution will be based on availability in each specific region, in line with the regulations set by the agricultural administration and the finance department. Additionally, the Gezira Project administration is working on providing the second batch of fuel for the Managil sectors to aid in harvesting summer crops, preparing lands for winter crops, and ensuring sufficient fuel supply for machinery used to clear silt and weeds from canals and waterways.
