If Elected, Trump Plans to Create a New Ministry Position to Reduce the Cost of Living
Former U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he would create a new ministerial position and issue an executive order to reduce the cost of living, according to the New York Post.
The Republican presidential candidate said during a rally in Albuquerque, New Mexico, “On day one, I will sign an executive order directing every federal agency to immediately remove every burdensome regulation that drives up the cost of goods.”
He added, “We have a lot of laws and regulations that are hurting our country.”
Trump indicated that the mission of the new ministerial position would be “to do everything possible by the federal government to reduce the cost of living.”
The Republican candidate did not mention who might take on this ministerial position.
Billionaire Elon Musk was previously floated as a candidate for the position of Secretary of Government Efficiency, nicknamed DOGE, but this may be difficult, as the CEO of Tesla cannot hold a ministerial position without giving up his investments.
