On Tuesday, the Federal Ministry of Health condemned the ongoing violations by the Rapid Support Forces militia against civilians and medical staff, describing them as a “flagrant violation of international norms and laws.”
The ministry stated in a release that the militia stormed the home of Dr. Mohammed Zakaria and attempted to rape his daughters. While defending his honor, Dr. Zakaria was brutally executed, highlighting the systematic targeting of medical staff.
The ministry said that these crimes represent a serious escalation against healthcare workers who are striving to save lives under exceptional circumstances. It called on the international community and human rights organizations to condemn and denounce these “heinous” acts and to hold the perpetrators accountable to ensure they do not escape punishment.
