Death Toll from Militia Attack on “Wad Ashib” Rises to 69 People

The Gezira Conference announced that the number of victims from the Rapid Support Forces militia’s siege of the village of “Wad Ashib” has risen to 69 killed, including 42 people who were shot dead.
A statement issued by the Gezira Conference confirmed that “the number of martyrs who fell at the hands of the Rapid Support Forces militia in the village of ‘Wad Ashib’ rose to 69 martyrs, as the militia killed 42 of them on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning by shooting, while 27 others died due to the siege and lack of medical treatment.”
The statement also noted that the attacking forces looted, terrorized the residents, and imposed a strict siege on them. Eyewitnesses reported that Rapid Support Forces personnel forcibly evacuated large numbers of residents, including women, children, and the elderly, from their homes, forcing them to gather on the banks of the Blue Nile. They endured poor health and environmental conditions, with a lack of shelter, medicine, and food.
