The West Demands Iran Immediately Destroy Highly Enriched Uranium
Britain, Germany, and France called on Iran yesterday (Thursday) to immediately destroy uranium enriched to 60%.
A statement distributed by the British Foreign Office said that the three countries urge Iran to halt its nuclear escalation and refrain from making threats related to producing nuclear weapons.
During a meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors, Western countries presented a text indicating “no progress has been made in recent months.”
The document states that it is “necessary and urgent” for Tehran to provide “reliable technical responses” regarding the presence of traces of uranium at two undeclared sites near Tehran: Turquoise Abad and Varamin.
