Al-Hilal returns with a valuable win from Tanzania and Mouloudia Algiers draws with Mazembe
Al-Hilal of Sudan returned with three valuable points from Tanzania, winning 2-0 against Young Africans, to top Group A of the CAF Champions League, benefiting from a goalless draw between Mouloudia Algiers and hosts Mazembe on Tuesday.
Adama Coulibaly opened the scoring for the Sudanese side in the 63rd minute after a long pass from Al-Tayeb Abdelrazek, firing a low shot into the net past goalkeeper Djidji Diara. Substitute Yasser Muzamil added the second goal in the 90th minute after a pass from Abdel Raouf Yaakoub.
Al-Hilal relied on counter-attacks, with Young Africans failing to find the back of the net despite hitting the crossbar in the second half.
Yaakoub missed a golden opportunity in the 81st minute after dribbling past goalkeeper Diara but delayed his shot. He later provided the assist for Muzamil’s goal to seal the win.
