Alonso, Bayer Leverkusen Coach: Boniface to Miss Matches Due to Thigh Injury
Xabi Alonso, the coach of Bayer Leverkusen, announced that Nigerian striker Victor Boniface will be sidelined due to a thigh injury.
According to the German news agency, the Leverkusen coach said in a press conference on Tuesday: “We hope that Boniface will return to playing before the end of the year, and we are currently monitoring the progress of his recovery.” The duration of Victor Boniface’s absence remains unclear.
Meanwhile, the “Soccer Nigeria” news network reported that “Boniface was injured during Nigeria’s match against Rwanda on November 18 in the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.”
The Nigerian international striker has scored 8 goals in 15 matches across all competitions since the start of this season.
