Sudan’s General Police Chief, Lieutenant General Hassan Khalid, presided over the graduation ceremony for a new batch of community police specializing in rapid urban warfare and conflict resolution in Gedaref on Tuesday.
The representative of Gedaref’s governor, Health Minister Dr. Ahmed Al-Amin Adam, highlighted the importance of preparedness to defeat adversaries. He noted that this batch, named after the martyr Lieutenant Muhammad Hamid Al-Zein, coincides with significant victories achieved by the armed forces and allied groups, including liberating Sennar’s capital, Sinja, from the RSF.
The newly graduated force has been trained in various aspects of urban warfare to decisively end the rebellion. Dr. Adam praised the efforts of Gedaref’s police and their collaboration with other security agencies to ensure stability across the state.
Gedaref Police Chief, Major General Issam Al-Din Mahjoub, commended the heroes of the “Battle of Dignity” and congratulated the Sudanese people on the successful reclamation of rebel-occupied territories. He outlined plans for securing the region and affirmed the readiness of the newly graduated force to undertake any assigned mission.
Major General Mahjoub expressed appreciation to state institutions, markets, and the private sector for their support in preparing the graduates. He also reaffirmed the police’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding national security.
