At Bargain Prices: Stolen Cars for Sale to People Coming from Central Africa and Chad

Local residents in the town of Um Dukhn, located southwest of Zalengi, the capital of Central Darfur, have reported an increase in criminal activities such as “murder, armed robbery, drug trafficking, and weapons trade” due to the spread of gangs in the city.
One citizen in the town told Darfur24 that the “market for stolen goods,” located near the Reheide Al-Bardi bus station and in the center of the town’s market, is home to groups of armed robbery gangs and drug traffickers from Central African Republic, Chad, and Sudan, posing a serious threat to the town’s residents.
He also revealed that dozens of stolen cars from various Sudanese states are being sold at symbolic prices to people coming from Central Africa and Chad.
