The Nidaa Al-Wasat platform announced the fall of dozens of casualties and missing persons from the villages west of Al-Muhairiba, in Al-Jazeera State, following what it described as “brutal” attacks carried out by the Rapid Support Forces militia on several villages in the region.
According to a post on the platform’s Facebook page on Saturday, the militia attacks targeted villages such as Saleem, Al-Fawar, Abarah, Abu Karna, Ajan, Um Kourak, Al-Hadadh, and Um Wazeen, resulting in the deaths of at least 12 people, including two children and a woman, in addition to dozens of injured and missing persons. The residents continue to suffer from mass displacement.
The platform indicated that the indiscriminate shelling caused the displacement of the people under harsh conditions, as they fled on foot, leading to the separation of families and the disappearance of several citizens.
Eyewitnesses confirmed that some of the injured were taken to nearby hospitals without the company of their relatives, highlighting the extent of the humanitarian disaster unfolding in the region.
The platform added that the latest attack lasted for two days, starting on November 27, 2024, and involved intense shelling targeting civilian homes, amid fears of further massacres in the targeted villages.
Efforts to locate and search for the missing people are ongoing, despite the difficult humanitarian and security conditions facing the residents of western Al-Muhairiba.
