Al-Burhan Thanks Putin for the “Russian Veto”

The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, sent a letter of thanks and appreciation to Russian President Vladimir Putin. The letter addressed the development and enhancement of bilateral relations and the promotion of cooperation between the two countries.
Al-Burhan met with the Russian Ambassador to Sudan, Andrei Chernobyl, on Sunday and handed him the letter.
The Chairman of the Sovereign Council expressed Sudan’s gratitude, on behalf of its government and people, for President Putin’s unwavering support for Sudan. He also referred to Russia’s recent veto in the UN Security Council regarding Sudan, describing it as a noble stance that would contribute to strengthening and deepening the relationship between the two countries and promoting it to wider horizons.
