Hamas Announces Death of 33 Israeli Hostages Amid Gaza War
Hamas announced on Monday evening that “33 Israeli prisoners” have been killed and others remain missing amid the ongoing war in Gaza that began in October last year.
In a statement, Hamas claimed, “33 Zionist prisoners were killed, and some have gone missing due to (Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu and his army.” The group warned Israel that “if the war in Gaza continues, you may lose your captives forever.”
The Al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’s military wing, had previously stated that Israeli prisoners had been killed during Israeli bombings in Gaza since October 7. Hamas accused Israel of deliberately killing the hostages to evade dealing with their capture.
