Sweden and Denmark Purchase Armored Vehicles Worth $2.3 Billion

On Friday, the Swedish government announced that Sweden and Denmark had signed a contract with a Swedish military equipment manufacturer to purchase 205 combat armored vehicles to replenish their stocks after providing aid to Ukraine.
In a statement reported by Agence France-Presse, the government stated that out of the 205 requested CV90 vehicles, 115 will be delivered to Denmark, 50 to Sweden, and 40 to Ukraine. The contract, signed with BAE Systems Hägglunds—a subsidiary of the British company BAE Systems—amounts to 25 billion Swedish kronor (approximately $2.3 billion).
Swedish Defense Minister Pål Jonson said in the statement, “These investments in additional Swedish combat vehicles will make Europe, and particularly Ukraine, safer.” In total, 10 countries operate CV90 combat vehicles, including the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, and Ukraine.
