Exemption of Arrears for Farmers in Gedaref

The Mechanized Agriculture Authority of Gedaref State has announced the exemption of farmers from arrears owed for the years 2008 to 2020.
It also announced a 25% reduction in renewal fees for the years 2021 to 2023. A letter issued by the Director of the Unified Collection and Resource Development Agency confirmed the state governor’s approval, instructing the Ministry of Finance to exempt arrears for the specified years and apply the 25% discount for 2021-2023 until December 25.
The letter warned that failure to renew by the deadline would result in land confiscation, in accordance with Article (3/7) of the Mechanized Agriculture Authority Services Fees Act for 2024.
