The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, will arrive in Port Sudan on Monday for an official visit to Sudan.
According to Foreign Minister Dr. Ali Youssef, as reported by the “Al-Muhakik” news site, the visit comes in response to the invitation extended by the minister to the Secretary-General during their recent meeting in Cairo, following Dr. Youssef’s appointment as Foreign Minister.
Youssef described the visit as important, noting that the Secretary-General will meet with several leaders and officials in the government, including the Chairman of the Sovereign Council. During the meetings, they will discuss the latest developments regarding the crisis in the country due to the ongoing war. Additionally, a series of discussions between the Secretary-General and the Foreign Minister will be held during the visit, focusing on areas of cooperation and shared interests between Sudan and the Arab League, as well as future collaboration on the reconstruction of Sudan and the rebuilding efforts post-war.
