Sudan Demands Official Apology from Uganda for Army Commander’s Threat to Invade Khartoum

Sudan Events – Follow-ups
The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the threat made by the Commander of the Uganda People’s Defense Forces, who is also President Museveni’s son, to invade Khartoum. Sudan considered the threat an unfortunate violation of international law, diplomatic norms, and mutual respect between friendly and brotherly nations.
A statement from the Ministry’s spokesperson emphasized that the incident also represents a complete disregard for the conduct expected from high-ranking officials, both in terms of reason and discipline, and the choice of words. The threat of war, violation of state sovereignty, and challenging the United Nations Charter, the African Union, and international law was deemed too serious to be taken lightly.
The Sudanese government called on the Ugandan government to issue an official apology for these offensive and dangerous remarks. Sudan also urged the African Union, regional, and international organizations to condemn the statement, which poses a clear threat to regional and international security and is offensive to Africans.
