Lieutenant General Engineer Ibrahim Jaber Ibrahim, a member of the Sovereign Council and Assistant Commander-in-Chief, chaired a meeting of the Supreme Committee for Currency Replacement, attended by Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Jibril Ibrahim.
The meeting reviewed the progress of the currency replacement process in targeted areas.
Minister of Culture and Information, Khalid Al-Ayser, who is also the government spokesperson, stated in a press briefing that the meeting reviewed reports from the Central Bank of Sudan on the progress of the replacement process, opening accounts, and monitoring counterfeiting activities.
He added that the meeting discussed arrangements for addressing the acceptance of deposits in Khartoum State, with several proposals presented for implementing the matter on the ground.
The Minister expressed the government’s gratitude to the Sudanese citizens who engaged positively with the currency replacement process, praising banking sector employees and content creators who voluntarily produced awareness videos that significantly contributed to the success of the operation.
