Hatim Al-Sir, advisor to the leader of the Democratic Unionist Party (Original) and former presidential candidate, affirmed that Egypt, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, serves as a pillar of regional stability. He praised Egypt’s historic role in addressing regional crises and fostering opportunities for peace and stability.
In a press statement on Sunday, Al-Sir emphasized, “Egypt has played and will continue to play a pivotal role in garnering broad political support—regionally and internationally—for Sudan’s unity, stability, and sovereignty.”
He added that the Sudanese people appreciate Egypt’s clear and unwavering stance since the outbreak of the crisis, highlighting its insistence on preserving Sudan’s unity and rejecting any attempts to undermine its sovereignty or alter its territorial integrity.
Al-Sir noted that President Al-Sisi and Egyptian authorities closely monitor the Sudanese situation and advocate rational approaches to achieving internal unity. He pointed out that Al-Sisi reiterated these principles during his address to Sudanese political leaders at the widely recognized Political and Civil Forces Conference.
He further stressed that the Democratic Unionist Party, led by Al-Mirghani, believes in deep-rooted and strategic relations with Egypt. He affirmed that strengthening the Sudanese state and its institutions, starting with the Transitional Sovereignty Council and the Sudanese Armed Forces, remains a priority.
