Kikel: We Are Ready for Integration and Disbandment Arrangements

Sudan Events – Follow-up

The Commander of Sudan’s Shield Forces, Abu Aqla Kikel, stated that in recent times, many misconceptions and accusations targeting his forces have emerged. He added, “At times, they question our leadership and responsibility for the crimes in the Al-Jazeera State and other areas, in an attempt to falsely attribute crimes to us that were committed by the RSF, which has been known for its crimes since its formation in Darfur until the ongoing war.”

Kikel continued in a statement: “We are not here to defend ourselves, as the truth will be revealed sooner or later, but now is the time for hard work. The enemy’s guns are still aimed at us, targeting our lives, our existence, and our land.”

He stressed that the priorities of Sudan’s Shield Forces align with the state’s priorities, its sovereignty, and the dignity of its people. He noted that this is why the Sudanese people have rallied behind them and supported their cause, which is their cause and that of the armed forces.

Kikel added, “When we engaged in the battle for dignity, we did not compromise the state nor demand any political gains. We remain committed to our pledge with the Sudanese people and the armed forces to protect the country, safeguard national sovereignty, and preserve national security.”

He rejected any behavior or rhetoric that threatens the unity of state military and security institutions and reaffirmed his commitment to defending the land and people, following the guidance of the armed forces leadership. He said, “Now is the time for battle and liberation, not for political grandstanding and bickering. The achievements of Sudan’s Shield Forces speak for themselves. Our forces have sacrificed hundreds of martyrs, wounded, and missing, and will remain on the path of the martyrs until we expel the brutal Janjaweed aggression from every inch of our land.”

Kikel renewed his firm commitment that he is an integral part of the Sudanese armed forces, fully prepared for the integration and disbandment arrangements according to the laws of Sudan’s distinguished military institution, whenever and wherever the leadership requests it.
