Introduction of Al-Suki Pumps into Service

The Al-Suki project has taken a significant step toward enhancing agricultural production by reintroducing pumps into service after a long hiatus, which will contribute to irrigating lands and increasing production in the region.
Engineer Al-Hadi Al-Sadiq, Minister of Production and Economic Resources in Sennar State, stated to (SUNA) that the operation of Al-Suki pumps will help provide irrigation, dig canals, and establish various irrigation channels. He emphasized that the ministry has developed an ambitious plan for early preparation for the 2025-2026 agricultural season.
He also reaffirmed ongoing efforts to rehabilitate and operate all irrigated projects, commending the vital economic role of the Al-Suki project and urging farmers to work diligently to ensure the success of the agricultural season.
In the same context, the minister announced the completion of a contract with the Defense Systems Company, affiliated with the armed forces, to cultivate 10,000 feddans at Kassab Complex. He confirmed that the inactive pumps would be rehabilitated in the coming days.
Al-Sadiq also called on companies to invest in both rain-fed and irrigated agricultural sectors, highlighting the government’s readiness to provide all necessary support and remove obstacles hindering agricultural investment in the state.
