Sudan has called on the United Nations, the UN Security Council, and other international and regional organizations to hold emergency meetings to discuss the UAE’s aggression against the country.
This was announced by Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement to the Sudan News Agency (SUNA), noting that the Foreign Minister has sent messages in this regard to the President of the UN General Assembly, the President of the Security Council, the UN Secretary-General, and other international and regional organizations.
Additionally, Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin provided a briefing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to UN organizations and agencies based in Sudan on the latest developments in the country, including the UAE’s targeting of vital and civilian infrastructure in Port Sudan. He also clarified the decisions issued by Sudan’s Security and Defense Council during its emergency meeting on the 6th of this month.
The Undersecretary stressed that the targeting of critical infrastructure in Port Sudan is a violation of international conventions, aimed at threatening civil rights and spreading chaos, affirming the Sudanese Armed Forces’ ability to control the situation.
He called on UN agencies and organizations to take a clear stance condemning the UAE’s recent escalation and its proxy, the rebel militia.
Meanwhile, Ms. Salwa Adam Baniyah, Commissioner of Humanitarian Aid, confirmed during the meeting that the humanitarian situation is stable and that humanitarian aid continues to flow to the states.
