Dinder Locality Carries Out Pest Control Operations

The Executive Director of Dinder Locality, Mr. Al-Dhaw Ahmed Yaqoub, confirmed that preparations for the upcoming 2025/26 agricultural season have commenced with pest control operations targeting armyworms and locusts in the eastern and western parts of the locality, covering an area of 42 hectares. He praised the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Plant Protection Department in the locality as part of the preparations for the agricultural season.
He also emphasized the locality’s commitment to ensuring the success of the farming season and affirmed its support to boost production and productivity.
Meanwhile, Engineer Amer Al-Zaki, Director of Plant Protection in the locality, explained that the Ministry of Production and Economic Resources is making significant efforts as part of the agricultural season’s preparations. He stated that prevention and control operations are vital as the first line of defense to minimize negative impacts on crop yields. He added that his department had launched a campaign to combat armyworms, locusts, and rodents, indicating that the campaign covered around 350 trees in the east and west of the locality. He confirmed the continuity of the campaigns until all targeted areas are covered and urged farmers to promptly report to the working teams to enable timely interventions.
