
Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris affirmed that the Government of Hope gives special attention to children’s issues. He stressed that the government will support any effort in favor of this cause, pointing out the important social dimensions of childhood matters in achieving community recovery.
In his office in Port Sudan, Idris met with Dr. Abdel Qader Abdullah Abu, Secretary-General of the National Council for Child Welfare, where they discussed various aspects of the council’s work and its relevant files.
The Secretary-General explained that the meeting discussed how to implement the strategic framework for protecting children’s rights, as well as the matrix of the Child Support Law. He noted that the Prime Minister affirmed his commitment to implementing all the points raised in the meeting in support of children.
He added that Kamil Idris confirmed that the Council of Ministers would dedicate adequate space to discuss childhood issues and approve points that serve this cause. The meeting also addressed the file of children lacking parental care, which will receive close follow-up. Related laws concerning children will also be updated.
