Al-Hadi Idris’s Movement Rejects Delivery of Aid to El Fasher

The Sudan Liberation Movement – Transitional Council, led by Al-Hadi Idris, informed UN Secretary-General António Guterres on Tuesday of its rejection of delivering humanitarian aid to El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur State.

The movement’s spokesperson, Abdelaziz Abdelkarim, told “Sudan Tribune” that “the movement sent an urgent message to the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres, stating that El Fasher has become a military operations zone, and that the majority of civilians and displaced persons have fled the horrors of war to safer areas.”

He added that the message also highlighted the humanitarian efforts made by the Sudan Founding Alliance “Tassiss” over the past three months to provide protection and safe corridors for evacuating civilians fleeing intense battles to secure areas.

The spokesperson called on UN agencies and humanitarian organizations to redirect urgent relief aid and emergency humanitarian services to support the affected and disaster-stricken people in areas such as Tawila, Jebel Marra, Kurma, Kutum, Ein Siro, Al-Kuma, Mellit, and Dar Al-Salam locality, as these areas have become shelter centers for those fleeing El Fasher and its surrounding camps.
