Africa Intelligence: Colombians Among Victims of Airstrike in Nyala

A report by Africa Intelligence revealed that Colombian paramilitary forces were among the victims of an airstrike carried out by Sudanese Armed Forces drones in Nyala on May 3rd.

The report stated that, with the assistance of Turkish Bayraktar TB2 drone operators, the Sudanese army targeted an aircraft preparing to take off from Nyala Airport with foreign fighters on board.

According to the newspaper, the strike enraged both the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and the United Arab Emirates, which responded by striking infrastructure in Port Sudan for six consecutive days.

The report further noted that in the aftermath, the Sudanese government hinted that the RSF’s strikes may have been launched from northern Somalia by the UAE.

It added that Bosaso Airport has become the UAE’s main hub for supplying weapons to Sudan, with Abu Dhabi establishing an air bridge to arm the RSF.
