The Federal Emergency Operations Center held its regular weekly meeting on Tuesday at the Ministry of Health headquarters in Khartoum, reviewing the country’s health situation and the activities implemented to contain epidemics.
The epidemiological report on cholera indicated that 603 new cases were recorded within a week, including 8 deaths. This brings the cumulative total to 84,531 cases and 2,145 deaths, across 110 localities in 17 states. The report noted an increase in cases among returnees from South Sudan to Sennar, White Nile, and Blue Nile states.
The report on dengue fever showed a cumulative total of 13,314 cases, including 21 deaths, from 45 localities in 10 states.
As for measles, the report stated a cumulative total of 2,547 cases, including 6 deaths, across 38 localities in 11 states.
