Prime Minister Presents Government Vision to End the War to Western Diplomat

Prime Minister Dr. Kamal Idris reaffirmed Sudan’s commitment to strengthening relations with Germany and expressed the country’s desire to enhance engagement with the international community in a manner consistent with national sovereignty and the will of the Sudanese people.

Idris met on Wednesday in his office in Port Sudan with the German chargé d’affaires, David Schwa, in the presence of Ambassador Jamal Malik, Director of the European and American Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In press statements, Ambassador Jamal said the meeting addressed the Sudanese government’s vision for achieving peace and ending the war in a way that meets the aspirations of the people. The talks also covered bilateral relations and Germany’s role in providing humanitarian aid to the Sudanese population.

The German chargé d’affaires acknowledged the severe impact the war has had on Sudan and expressed his belief that the conflict would soon come to an end. He affirmed that Germany would continue to support the Sudanese people through humanitarian assistance and political backing to help restore stability.
