Washington: No Plans to Appoint a Special Envoy to Sudan at Present

A senior official at the U.S. Department of State told “Sudan Tribune” that there are currently no new announcements regarding the appointment of special envoys to Sudan.

The official confirmed that the United States remains focused on resolving the crisis in Sudan by engaging with the warring parties and coordinating with international partners to push for a lasting resolution.

He added that Washington will continue to provide humanitarian assistance, emphasizing that life-saving aid — including food, medical care, and safe drinking water — is being delivered to internally displaced persons, refugees, and others in urgent need inside Sudan.
