Preparations to Inaugurate Corporate Social Responsibility Projects in Northern State

Work is nearing completion on 18 corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects sponsored by the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company in the Dalgo and Halfa localities of Northern State. The estimated cost of these projects is five billion Sudanese pounds.

Among the most prominent projects is the construction of the “Abu Sara” bridge, which connects the Mahas and Skoot areas and facilitates use of the national highway—particularly important during the rainy season, when flooding typically disrupts transportation.

According to Sudan News Agency, Abdel Rahman Mahjoub Al-Nadhif, Director of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company’s Northern State branch, stated that the projects include the construction of several bridges along both western and eastern routes, in addition to the rehabilitation of flood drainage systems in Dalgo and Halfa and in areas impacted by last year’s floods.

He affirmed that these projects reflect the company’s commitment to the residents of mining areas. The soon-to-be-inaugurated projects fall within the full scope of the 2025 budget.

On another front, mining companies operating in Dalgo and Halfa organized environmental sanitation and street tree-planting campaigns in the two towns on Thursday. These campaigns will continue through Saturday.

Al-Nadhif added that operations in mining areas and markets are proceeding in an orderly fashion under stable and secure conditions. He reiterated the company’s commitment to implementing CSR programs across all mining sites and to ensuring environmental safety and active participation in sanitation efforts.

He also praised the positive engagement and awareness of local communities regarding the role of the company and its partners in local development, and expressed appreciation for the significant contributions made by mining companies and artisanal miners in the ongoing economic transformation of the mining areas.
