On Tuesday, newly appointed ministers and ministers of state in the new “Hope Government” were sworn in before General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, in the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris, the Chief Justice, and the Council’s Secretary-General Lt. Gen. Dr. Mohamed Al-Ghali Ali Youssef.
In a press statement, Salima Ishaq said that the sworn-in officials included ministers of Agriculture, Irrigation, Transport, Infrastructure, Education, National Guidance, Higher Education, and ministers of state for Foreign Affairs, Social Welfare, and Human Resources.
She explained that the officials received briefings from the Sovereign Council President and the Prime Minister, emphasizing teamwork. The “Hope Government” comes during a critical phase in Sudan’s history, requiring full coordination across ministries and institutions to navigate the current crisis.
The Minister of State for Social Welfare and Human Resources noted that the Hope Government is a government of projects, not ceremonial posts, stressing it is a government of action and real change.
