Police: 111,576 Reports Filed, Majority Linked to Militia Abuses

Police spokesperson Brigadier General Fath al-Rahman Mohamed al-Toum has revealed statistics on citizen reports submitted via the electronic complaints platform, along with their classifications.

In a statement to the Police Press Office, Brig. Gen. Fath al-Rahman said a total of 111,576 reports had been filed on the platform, most of them relating to violations committed by members of the rebel militia. These included 81,258 reports concerning stolen or missing vehicles, 29,819 reports of property violations, 86 cases of assault, and 413 reports of missing persons.

He added that police stations across all localities of Khartoum State had recorded 46,299 reports under various legal provisions.

The spokesperson also disclosed effective measures taken by relevant police departments, in coordination with Interpol, international and regional organizations, and neighboring countries, to recover stolen vehicles and locate missing persons, in addition to ongoing criminal investigations and field surveillance operations within the country.
