Napoli Defeat Olympiacos 2–1 in Friendly Clash

Napoli claimed a 2–1 victory over Greek side Olympiacos on Thursday in a friendly match as both teams continue their preparations for the new season.

Matteo Politano opened the scoring for the Italian champions in the 16th minute, before Lorenzo Lucca doubled the lead in the 53rd.

Olympiacos pulled one back in the first minute of stoppage time through Francesco Cecchinio, but it was too late to spark a comeback.

Napoli will begin their Serie A title defense against Sassuolo on August 23, while Olympiacos kick off their Greek Super League campaign against Asteras on the same day.

Napoli lifted the Serie A trophy last season for the fourth time in their history, while Olympiacos secured their 48th Greek league title.
