Mohamed Zakaria, spokesperson for the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM), confirmed that armed struggle movements are now united under the Sudanese Armed Forces against the rebel militias.
Zakaria told Al-Muhaqiq news site that these movements are an essential part of defending the nation and preserving its sovereignty. He noted that a decision by Sovereignty Council Chairman and Commander-in-Chief Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan was aimed at organizing formations that emerged during the war or were not part of peace agreements. Movements that signed the Juba Peace Agreement remain legitimate, having committed to its terms, which include integration into the Sudanese army under security arrangements.
He emphasized that despite the war delaying the implementation of these security arrangements, their commitment remains steadfast, with their current priority being victory, national unity, and completing the remaining obligations of the Juba Agreement toward a unified and professional national army.
