Widespread Condemnation Over Execution of Civilian by Militia in Al-Fashir

On Monday, political parties and human rights groups condemned the execution of an unarmed civilian by a Rapid Support Forces (RSF) member in Al-Fashir, North Darfur.

Activists circulated a video showing the RSF member questioning the civilian about the commander of the Sixth Division and his tribe before opening fire, killing him instantly.

The human rights group “Emergency Lawyers” described the act as a war crime and a crime against humanity, holding RSF leadership fully responsible. The group called for an urgent, independent international investigation, public disclosure of results, accountability for the officer involved, and prosecution at the International Criminal Court.

The National Umma Party also condemned the killing, stating that it exemplifies flagrant violations of international humanitarian law and exposes RSF’s false claims of protecting civilians.
