Four independent sources from Zalengi, Central Darfur, reported that two people were killed and others injured after a hand grenade exploded inside the teaching hospital on Sunday evening.
A witness told Darfur24 that a resident from Al-Hamidiyya camp had been killed and his body was brought to the hospital, prompting the perpetrators to confront the victim’s family there, escalating tensions.
The witness added that a friend of the deceased threw a grenade inside the hospital, instantly killing two people and injuring others. The incident caused panic, forcing medical staff to leave the premises.
A hospital source confirmed that the explosion killed two civilians and injured more than five others, with injuries ranging from moderate to critical, and that the wounded were transported to Al-Jeneina city for treatment.
