Government Seeks Strategic Economic Partnerships with China

Mohamed Bashar, Undersecretary for Planning at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, reaffirmed the government’s determination to strengthen cooperation with the People’s Republic of China and expand effective partnerships that serve the interests of both nations. He praised China’s support for the water sector, particularly in states affected by war and displacement.
During a meeting at the ministry on Wednesday with Xu Jian, the new Chargé d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Sudan, and his outgoing predecessor, Bashar highlighted ongoing government efforts to build strategic economic partnerships with China and open further opportunities for new Chinese investments.
For his part, the Chinese envoy pledged to work toward advancing economic relations and continuing the efforts of his predecessor to elevate ties to broader horizons that reinforce shared interests. He emphasized the deep-rooted relationship between the two countries.
