Sudanese Interior Minister Lt. Gen. Babiker Samra said the government will no longer tolerate illegal foreign presence in the country due to its negative security, economic, and social impacts.
Speaking to Al Jazeera Net, Samra stressed that the Interior Ministry and the Sudanese police are working with all available means to achieve the state’s top priority at this stage: creating the conditions for citizens to return to their homes and workplaces in war-affected areas and restoring normal civilian life.
He assured those hesitant to return that “Khartoum is now completely safe,” noting that most forces have complied with Sovereign Council Chairman Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan’s decision to clear the capital of military formations and joint forces.
The minister also confirmed efforts to recover property looted from citizens during the conflict, both inside and outside the country.
