Sudan Falls to Madagascar

The Sudanese national football team squandered a golden opportunity to reach the final of the African Nations Championship for local players, suffering a 1-0 defeat to Madagascar in extra time on Tuesday evening at Dar es Salaam Stadium in Tanzania.
The Falcons of Jediane let victory slip from their grasp after missing several easy chances. The match had ended goalless in regular time, sending both sides into extra periods.
Madagascar were reduced to 10 men late in the second half after one of their players was sent off for a foul on Sudanese midfielder Mohamed Al-Rashid.
Sudan will now face the loser of the Morocco–Senegal clash in the third-place playoff.
