Prime Minister Pledges to Increase Teachers’ Salaries

Ahmed Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, inspected the grading centers for the postponed 2024 Secondary School Certificate exams, monitoring operations at the Arabic and History subject centers.

He lauded teachers’ efforts, emphasizing their exemplary dedication and sacrifices during the 2023 and 2024 exams, which were conducted amidst the ongoing war. Khalifa noted that he relayed this to state leadership, stressing the importance of valuing education and ensuring teachers receive the recognition they deserve.

Significant efforts are underway by the Ministry, the Teachers’ Union, and the Federation to improve teacher salaries. The Prime Minister has committed to aligning salaries with teachers’ efforts, ensuring financial stability, while Giad Company has pledged to provide installment-based rickshaws to teachers.

Sudan’s Exam Director, Khalid Ali Osman, confirmed that grading is progressing steadily, with the first batch of papers completed and currently being reviewed and scored by control room teachers, expressing hope that the grading process will finish as scheduled prior to the results announcement.
