At least eight people were killed and 24 others injured—including three women and a child—amid widespread displacement following renewed artillery attacks by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on El Fasher.
Eyewitnesses told Darfur 24 that the RSF resumed shelling neighborhoods including Al-Nusrat, Al-Qubba, and Abu Shouk Al-Hilla in the western sector, causing dozens of casualties and forcing many families to flee.
Abdelrahman Hassan Adam, a resident of Al-Nasr neighborhood, told Darfur 24 that the RSF’s artillery strike on Tuesday afternoon resulted in eight deaths, including two women and a child, and prompted mass displacement within the city’s western sector.
A local health source reported severe overcrowding at Al-Saudi Hospital, noting that over the past three days, the hospital received more than 150 patients, most with critical injuries, amid a severe shortage of medical staff, supplies, and blood, resulting in numerous fatalities and exacerbating the suffering of survivors.
The source added that the deteriorating humanitarian situation and fragile health system in El Fasher delay recovery, particularly for malnourished patients and those with chronic illnesses. Meanwhile, Darfur 24 documented widespread displacement from the affected neighborhoods and the Nivasha IDP camp, as residents sought safety in the city’s western sector or the northern countryside.
