The World Food Programme (WFP) reported that floods and torrential rains have cut off roads to Tarsin in Jebel Marra, impeding aid delivery to residents affected by the landslide.
In a Facebook post, WFP described the situation as catastrophic: “A disaster atop a disaster in Sudan after a destructive landslide in Jebel Marra, Darfur. WFP is exerting every effort to deliver aid, but floods have blocked access to the area.”
The agency noted that heavy rains and floods are affecting multiple regions across Sudan, further hampering humanitarian assistance.
