Doctors in El-Fasher, capital of North Darfur, reported Thursday a complete shortage of burial shrouds, forcing families to use plastic bags to wrap the dead.
Two doctors at the Saudi Hospital told Sudan Tribune that the lack of shrouds had reached a crisis point. A displaced man who fled Abu Shouk camp earlier this week said that after Rapid Support Forces killed more than 15 people in recent attacks, families struggled to find burial cloths. At least seven victims were buried in the clothes they were wearing at the time of death.
Earlier this week, the RSF forcibly displaced all residents of Abu Shouk camp, which had housed more than 190,000 displaced people.
